For barrels & receivers created right after 1905: Receivers having the “WP” evidence but no “WP” or “Oval P” evidence within the barrel would reveal the barrel was changed beyond Winchester using a pre-1905 barrel.
Firearms produced before 1905 that have the “WP” evidence mark stamped over the receiver and barrel signifies the Winchester fix shop executed do the job to the barrel, receiver, or other internal section.
